My Story

Hi, and welcome to A Modern Day Fairy Tale! What is there to know about me? I am 23 years old. I am a Marine wife to Matt and together we have an amazing little boy, Shaun. I enjoy cooking, crafts, all things vintage (especially the 50s) and spending time with my wonderful little family. I have dreams of being a modern day Stepford wife (without the robotics) but often fall short.

I started this blog a few years ago to share stories about my Shaun with family far away when Facebook status updates just weren't enough. I had also recently been teaching myself to cook and so I found it to be a great way to share the occasional recipe. Then in October, my son was diagnosed with autism and it has become a great way for me to share his struggles and successes and raise awareness for this often misunderstood diagnosis.
